Leyla Modirzadeh is a multi-disciplinary artist, educator, actress, and director. As an actress, she has performed in theatres across the country including A Contemporary Theatre and The Group Theatre in Seattle, Wisdom Bridge Theatre in Chicago, Speakeasy Stage in Boston, The Kennedy Center in DC, La Mama ETC and New York Theatre Workshop in New York. In addition to her professional stage work, Leyla is known for her solo shows and collaborations with renowned theatre artist Ping Chong. She most recently taught acting as an assistant professor of performance at the State University of New York, New Paltz, after having taught at American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco and at UC Berkeley. She received her BA in Humanities from UC Berkeley, MFA in acting from University of Washington, and another MFA in visual arts from Pratt Institute.
